Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. Following her debut in a feature film by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to appear as a anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Photographer approached Doody Doody took up modelling and subsequently an industry-related career in modelling. Doody did not like glamour or nude work. This was a principle that was carried into her acting. Doody was offered a tiny role as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was spotted by the director who cast her. Doody was selected as one of the 12 most promising actors of the year in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. At just 18 as she played the role Doody was, and still is the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying starring Mickey Rourke also had a part for Doody as IRA Siobhan. Doody was a silent actress in a 1987 adaptation from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first leading part. The episode aired in 1988 alongside John Hurt, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. Her first appearance was in the movie Taffin alongside Pierce Brosnan. Next, she portrayed the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian Nazi-sympathizer and archaeologist opposite Harrison Ford. Doody is part of the James Bond family, having acted along with Sean Connery and Jonathan Pryce in the film Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. Doody was in the British mini-series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The show was inspired by The Hitler Diaries publication scam. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. She was Flannery Charlie Sheen's agent and partner in Major League II. She was chosen to be an alternative to Cybill Shepherd, who was once L'Oreal's spokeswoman. After almost a decade away from screen Doody was back in the acting world by playing a minor role in the 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the awards ceremony scene. She starred along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version of King Solomon's Mines. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). She was also scheduled to take on the role of lead for The Asphyx remake, but this project did not go ahead. She began her first two seasons of The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. She also appeared as Pam Jefferson in We Still Kill the Old Way. The film was awarded the Almeria Tierra de Cinema award on 21 November 2018.
